Speaking of newspapers, how much fun would it be to be given a newspaper, cart-blanche to reinvent without any corporate overhead, but with full access to its inherent resources? You have a great infrastructure, printing presses (sell them!) and in the case of a good amount of them, great local awareness. My secret dream: being given a year, as CEO, to do a ground-up reinvention of a newspaper. Anyone interested?

I’d love to join you … let’s make sure we get the electronic archives, microfiche, clippings and old photos.
Oh, we need to get the historical society involved - help with sense of place. Some great software and some folks that hate meetings and politics but love getting things done.
I would love to start with the newspaper and come up with the thing that people would want to read and the product that would evolve as technology evolves.
