This is very sad. When I was 12, during the Gulf War, Joey Bishop spoke at our Synagogue during a pro-Israel rally. That night, Scud missiles hit Tel Aviv, and the news crews descending on our little Synagogue in Fullerton. I was going to the bathroom during the events and Bishop was about to get interviewed by NBC4 I believe. He grabbed me, stood me in front of him, told me to look into the camera and not to smile and he did his interview. I did that for two interviews and he said I was a “good prop.” It rocked.
