Second Life hucksters - Valleywag: I think ultimately what Denton is forgetting is that ultimately everything democratizes and equalizes into the general noise of the top 1%. Meaning: no matter the intentions at the beginning, everything eventually comes to resemble everything else, where that “everything else” is the highway/billboard/bombast which has typified the American experience since Columbus turned an accident into imperialistic hype. Digg is going through this (see my prior post about this). Second Life too. Nothing new here, just the paving of toon town to make room for the 110.
