Digg Offices Complete - a photoset on Flickr: OK, and I have this to say about Newsvine too…. isn’t the notion of cool modern loft-like offices, with expensive chairs, nice architecture, etc a very Web 1.0 office? I think Jelsoft is the epitome of the opposite of this: profitable product (vBulletin), no offices, distributed workforce, etc. Couldn’t the “cooler than thou” offices be left behind in Soma in 1999?

Man, it’s really funny how one $250 steel sign can cause the entire world to think you have an expensive office. Here are some facts about the Newsvine office, just in case you’re curious:
Loft-style: No
Nice architecture: No
Cost per chair: $39.95 at Staples
Amount of money put into decorating: $250 (for the sign)
Percentage of office space we actually pay for: 50%
Price paid per month: Bottom of market
There’s a difference between making yourself a pleasant office and spending gobs of money on it. It’s just shocking to me how much people can read into a simple steel sign. Hell, it was even apparently mentioned at the SXSW keynote! For all everyone knows, it could even be a Photoshop job.
