Uses for an iPod Touch Around the House

Here are two:

Controlling our Home Automation Setup. Our setup uses Indigo from Perceptive Automation tied to an Insteon system through the house. The control panel for iPhone is through a hack from their forums. The master computer for this is embedded in the wall in our living room with a 15″ wall mounted touch-screen acting as the controller.

And controlling our Denon 3808CI from its included web-server. I just made an iPhone ready web app in Dashcode to scale it properly using an iframe.

The next step: Web based iPhone Sonos controller!

Very nice. I was considering setting something like this after I fell in love with the Apple Remote app combined with my Airport Expresses and AppleTV.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on Android. I fear as well that with the rapid pace of "This is the BEST ANDROID PHONE ON THE MARKET" -- seemingly every three weeks -- we are nearly to the point where one company (say HTC) will cause an Osborne Effect on another manufacturer (say, Motorola or Samsung). It is only in each companies best interest to have the worlds best Android phone (WBAP for short). I fear its about to get nasty.
